Cleaning the gutters today I found a few interesting things. First we have this clamp-like thing that has been squirrel-chewed. It appears to have been removed from this vent. But what was its function?
Next I found that the corner of the gutter has come loose. Appears that it used to be welded. How to repair that?

When cleaning my rain gutters I’ve used a great new tool called a Gutter Clutter Buster which is an attachment tool for my wet/dry vac and is Made In USA. We too have found that the squirrels chewed into our plumbing vent stack and ate the top of the lead boot. Now we too must replace this for proper home maintenance. No big deal but an inconvenience for sure.
