Snow Leopard : Launch System Preferences in 32-bit

This command when entered in terminal will make a new copy of your system preferences application that always runs in 32-bit.

ditto -arch i386 /Applications/System\ Preferences.app /Applications/System\ Preferences\ 32-bit.app

Now drag that new copy into your dock for a quick and easy way to launch system preferences in 32-bit mode all the time. Great if you’re using third-party pref panes like SynergyKM, which is still only 32-bit (and likely to be so for a while, I imagine).
